• Barbara Allen, Director of STS in Northern Virginia received her Ph.D. in STS from RPI in 1999. Her research interests: public participation and understanding of S+T, environmental social movements, political sociology of science. Cultural and political aspects of environmental science, public use of science, and the role of the science and scientists in politics and controversy.
